LEMAIRE AT PALAIS ROYAL
LEMAIRE opens its third address in Paris, in the arcades of the Palais Royal. The boutique, set within a peaceful cloister facing the garden, echoes the quiet charm of LEMAIRE Place des Vosges. Home to the first magasins de nouveautés and cabinets de lecture, Palais Royal introduced new ways of seeing and being seen in the 19th century.
With their large windows and constant flow of passers-by, the arcades foregrounded a new visual culture shaped by flâneurs and flâneuses. In the same spirit, LEMAIRE Palais Royal frames a space that unfolds as a visual conversation. Stone and soft grey tones enfold the ceiling, floors, and walls in a restrained, mineral palette.
Translucent window veils and natural light filtering from two open sides create a sense of enclosure.
